Let's talk food first. I'm not always down for Asian fusion, but HakkaChow offers some interesting selections. My choice was for the Red Diamond bowl, as I'm a fan of both tuna and crab salad. While I do think this dish could use a little more texture and crunch than the salad greens offer on their own, the rest of the poke mix is well proportioned and complementary. I also enjoyed a bowl of wonton soup, tasty but late as it arrived after my entree, albeit with apologies from the kitchen staff. Table service was prompt in all other respects. I visited on a weeknight, and while the restaurant didn't seem crowded I found it quite noisy, so maybe it's not the best choice for conversation. And getting seated was a rather slow process, though I still don't know why given there wasn't immense demand at the time of my visit. It just seemed as though the hosts were not well organized. All in all though, not a bad experience for my first return visit to HakkaChow in a year or more. Maybe I should stop in a little more frequently.

My husband and I really enjoyed eating here. The wait staff was knowledgeable and was able to customize some menu items to be vegetarian for us, which we really appreciated. We ordered kung pao tofu (instead of chicken) and the eggplant. Both of which were excellent. Service was fast and attentive. Definitely recommend

The food was very good. The place was clean and they people were nice. The orange chicken was awesome and the dumplings are exactly the way they should be. I will definitely be checking back. I like them as much if not more than some of the local Japanese steakhouses nearby. I would say they are a little bit better than PF Chang. Just a little.

To set the scene, this restaurant is in a smaller shopping in an inconspicuous business like building. You walk in and are greeted by a friendly host that's wisps you off your table. The smell of steamed dumplings and soy sauce fill the air in an enticing manner. Our server for the evening greeted us with a friendly smile and handed us our menus and the Thursday special is 1/2 off glasses of wine! As for the menu everything on it was making my mouth water. For appetizer I had the crab wontons and get this they are made with REAL CRAB not that imitation crab. REAL CRAB! They were delicious. Creamy and crispy for the perfect blend of textures. For dinner the hot and sour soup came next. A more viscous soup filled with plenty of flavors in it to keep you coming back for the next spoonful. It was not overpowering in its flavors and was a perfect to set me up for my main course. As an adventurous eater I decided to go with the sushi tower and added on the Salmon Tartar for $5. I had no idea what to expect, but the layers of rice, tuna, crab salad and crisp were presented beautifully! Upon tasting it, I was pleasantly surprised but I did find myself wishing for just a little more of something. It was good, but the flavors seemed to all come together in a way that kept everything more masked. All in all I had a great experience an look forward to returning! I think I will look to explore the other entrees and rolls next time but I know I will be getting great quality cooking at solid pricing as well

Another great lunch at Hakkachow. I had the sushi lunch special which is a good value option. The salad and the spicy salmon were great.

Much like Phoenix Asian Cuisine in Greensboro, Hakkachow calls to mind a non-corporate P.F. Chang's, only better. The restaurant is modern and spacious with plenty of seating to go around. The menu skews Chinese though there are Korean and Thai offerings as well as a sushi/poke menu as well. While there is something to be said for the comfort of familiarity, that menu, save for a few of the sushi rolls, offers no surprises. Everything you'll find here, you've likely already had elsewhere. My wife and I opted to start with one of the unique rolls (Cajun Revolution: tempura shrimp, cream cheese, and jalapeno inside/Cajun salmon, tuna, yellowtail, crispy shallot, aioli, and eel sauce outside), followed by a veggie fried rice (with homemade chili oil) and Singapore noodles, respectively. Our app came quickly, and we didn't have long to wait for our entrees either though service slowed considerably as the restaurant got busier. However, our server remained courteous, apologetic, and unflappably professional through it all. The kitchen proved to be on its game as well. On paper, the Cajun Revolution seemed almost too much, but it made for a tasty bite: spicy, crunchy, and flavorful. Singapore noodles are one of my go-to dishes for Chinese and Asian fusion, and Hakkachow's version didn't disappoint. While not the best I've had, the composition, flavors, and aroma were all there. The fried rice was likewise well-executed, and it contained a variety of veggies, but it wasn't leaps and bounds ahead of what you can get elsewhere. Hakkachow's entrees run large, which helps take the sting out of the mid-teens pricing. On the one hand, that is hardly unreasonable for a nice meal out. On the other hand, depending on how you feel about your favorite Chinese takeout joint, the extent to which Hakkachow's food surpasses it may or may not justify the extent to which Hakkachow's prices do. All told, Hakkachow promises competently made food in a pleasant environment. It might lack a distinctive "wow" factor, but it doesn't seem likely to let you down, either.

WOW! We returned to Hakkachow after speaking with the owners about our previous experience. We didn't tell them when we were going, so it was still an authentic experience. Food was delicious as always. We had the orange chicken, the general Tso chicken, crab wontons, the Hakka zen shrimp, and the garlic naan. The kids had chicken tenders and fries with a side salad. Everything was wonderful! The host staff was friendly and responsive, our waitress (Becca I believe her name was) was responsive, quick, and friendly. We had a much better experience this time around and the atmosphere, service, and food were all much more up to the normal standard. We have so much respect for family owned and operated businesses especially when they take pride in their product and their customer service. 10/10 worth your time and money here at Hakkachow. You will leave full and happy. If there is ever an issue you can count on the management to respond promptly and help to make it better. If you haven't been yet, go try Hakkachow!

We came here for a birthday celebration.  First, they have lunch specials everyday until 3pm. So,  we all capitalized on that fact.  The birthday girl ordered the chicken lettuce wrap for an appetizer. It's was a large portion and very good. I ordered the green curry with chicken. The portion size again was great and it came with a good amount of vegetables. I have already been back.
